Hi guys, just wanted to ask if anyone can tell me why on occasion I get a groaning noise thru the cabin when I touch the brakes slightly in slow crawling traffic. Its started after the car had done about 250 on the clock and sounds like I've run over an old man or like a klaxon horn being let off.

I can see grooves on the discs, shouldn't they be smooth and shiny??

At first I thought it may of been salt on the discs but I'm not convinced.

There is a common problem with the brakes requiring some grease behind the pads to stop vibrations - if you search this thread for whale noise you will find many posts on this.

Cheers for that!!

Read some of my posts........It generally goes after 500 miles as the new pads and discs 'bed' into each other.

could this account for squealing when braking gently, its a gp active 1.2 with 4800 on the clock

its annoying cos I have to brake harder than i like and it can lock the seatbelts up some times
