General General Panda thoughts

We bought a 4x4 Country Club from a guy down south who had imported it from Japan. It was still Japanese registered when we got it. From the papers with the car shipping (and import) was about the £800 quoted above. Cost I think about £200 to register in UK (and to convert lights/speedo for MOT).

But it was mint!! It was LHD and had aircon (tho never used it). Also had a flashing red "emissions warning light" retro-fitted.

Also had tinted film on all windows and some slight paint fade due to sun.

Let's all buy a Japanese car and get them shipped over together - imagine the fun when the crates are opened!!

Hold your horses guys,

There is one thing which is making me think that the seller ( bulk buy and sell company) is not saying the hole truth. Approx. 4 years ago such an panda 4x4 example was worth over £2.5 after conversion from Yen ->$->£, on the hole tradecarview page there are hundreds of bargins!!! So what is my point?

As we all know there was a huge disaster in Japan on March 2011 - earth quake -> tsunami ->big scale flood -> Fukushima Nuclear Plant Meltdown.

So my theory is that now after some time and work done, they are seling out cars which were flushed/ flooded by high water.

I might be wrong, but you can observe simmilar "used cars price dropps" after some time i every country affected by floods.
In case of panda it may not have impact on the car, no ECU just italian wiring but in case of more modern cars full of fancy gadgets it will.

Anyway above Panda still looks bloody good.

hmmm .......radiated panda 4x4 glowing in the dark:idea:, the best car choice to make trip to Prypiat near Chernobyl which I am going to make maby this year:D

but also some have been found to have high radiation levels!

I can't see this myself, even within the perimeter radiation levels dropped very quickly, half life's etc. I'd be surprised if they're that badly contaminated, especially if not on top of the reactor when it happened.

Funny enough I was reading about this the other day in Wiki

Not difficult to work out.... Fiat stopped making RHD pandas when?? This is how old??...

So they stopped RHD then also? I thought they just stopped selling them in our market, didn't realise they stopped RHD production also.
