Technical fuel filter

As anybody else had trouble with the fuel filter, have changed mine and the housing still weeping. Smell of diesel around the inner wheel arch in morning 2008 x250
housing dry must be leaking else where.

Hi - if you look through this site you will find numerous reports of leaking fuel filters. Also see reports on the Tribby Forum and the Discussion forum of the Caravan Club. You should submit a Vehicle Recall form to VOSA - see their website. There is a design issue with the fuel filter housing but FIAT will not do a recall, claiming the problem is due to poor mechanics!

Its the same filter and housing as used on lots of other vehicles.
You need to use the proper tool to change the filter and retighten the cap to the correct torque. Also use an approved filter gasket which is square profile not round. If you have put the housing in a vice and damaged it, used a non approved gasket, or not tightened the cap to the correct torque, you can't blame Fiat if it leaks.
