General Found a new "feature"

Dont know how widly known this is, or just me being a div and not seen it before, but I found a new "feature" on my GP Sporting tonight.

When you have the headlights on, press the - key next to the menu button on the right hand side of the steering wheel and it dims the dash illumination, press the + button and they get brighter. Genuis:slayer:

I think most of the cars I have owned in the past 15 years or so have had dashboard dimmer switches.

that was the first thing i found. i do like the follow me home headlights though. thats my favourite feature

Yup. My G reg Tipo had that.

You know it. 1.9 (turbo diesel) DGT. What a stonking car that was compared to vehicles of the time.

explain this feature? is it the same one that makes the lights go up n down, say when uv got loadsa gear ur nocking off in the back, u put the lights down so it dont glare the drivers infront? if its summit different explain where to find it on me MK2! and also, follow me home headlights, i see ford do these alot 2, what are they?

The dimmer dims/brightens the illumination of the instrument cluster, helps at night as it reduces glare.

Follow me home headlights stay on for a set time after you turn the car off. On the GP pull the headlight stalk back and the display says how many secs they stay on for

......but all of this stuff is in the owners handbook.....with all this electronic crap that they give you these days it really proves the point of reading the handbook several times over.

i mean how many times have you picked up a computer game and just started playing without so much as looking at the book or tutorials. Or how many times have you put together things from ikea without looking at the pretty pictures. It is more fun to find things out by chance

My 82 Superbrava had that feature as well, well it did until it decide to stop working at some point.
