I have this problem with my 2008 Bravo 1.6 multijet - on every ignition the clock and the trip computer data resets. Also I get flashing mileage and the dials stay in the place they were before ignition off. I suspect that the problem is in the wiring (a constant power line I guess). After I put the key in MAR position, it takes a few seconds for the instrument panel to light up, and I can also hear a relays's clicking sound from behind the dash.
I had this same problem previously but it disappeared by itself. So I'm guessing a loose connection somewhere.:bang:

My question is if anyone knows which wires lead a constant power to the BCM, and any suggestions on what else should I check.

p.s. The battery is checked and is in excellent condition, so that shouldn't be the culprit.

Thanks!

These symptoms occur usually when the battery is getting weak. The starter takes a lot of current, leaving little for the other functions.
The battery may check out ok with no load, but a voltmeter across the terminals during starting may show a different story.

On Panda, 500 and Punto, the main battery cables are aluminium and corrode internally, appearing fine when inspected, but causing voltage drops when under stress. The earth cable is most troublesome. A jump lead between the battery negative and the engine by-passes the main cable, and if the problem is eased, the main cable needs replacing.

The fault is unlikely to be within the body computer, usually much simpler. On Panda/500, water leaks into the interior can pour over the body computer connections, so checking them for damp might be an idea. Under the windscreen is a chamber where the heater takes its air supply. This area can get full of dead leaves, which block the drain tubes, and when it fills with water, it spills into the interior of the car. Sometimes onto the computer.
