Hi gang I've got a 2015 Fiat 500 twinair, i recently replaced the battery because the car was not used and stored in a garage for a few years. I noticed the mileage flashes and also the battery drains completely by a few days. I'm now disconnecting the negative terminal when I park up over night in order to keep it full. Can you please advise me on a cure because disconnecting the battery every day is very inconvenient and a lot of trouble 🙏

Does your car have blue and me?
This is a known common issue when a blue and me fault occurs - the blue and me unit drains the battery and causes the mileage to flash because the unit has 'failed'
a repair costs about £60 from memory? have you got an aftermarket stereo?

Hi and thank you for your comment. I don't know what you mean by aftermarket stereo, it's the original factory fitted radio and it works a treat.

Try it. If it's not working then it's certainly the Bluetooth module at fault. It can be disconnected but needs a proxi alignment afterwards to stop the flashing mileage
I tried switching it off on the dash but the battery was still draining, can I disconnect it via the fuse box, only a guess as I'm not technically qualified

My understanding is that you need to physically disconnect the power connector from the Blue&Me module. It's located behind the main trim panel in the rear passenger compartment (passenger side I think, perhaps someone can confirm this?). The usual problem folks have is removing the seat belt attachment bolt, which is known to shear off if there is any corrosion on the threads.

Fixing the flashing mileage requires a proxi alignment, but removing the power connector from the module will stop the battery drain. Some folks have had their B&M module repaired, but many just leave it disconnected if they don't need that functionality.

I think the get-round for the seatbelt bolt is to carefully cut the plastic trim panel so it can be pulled clear. Avoids removing the bolt and risking it snapping.
I've not had to remove a Blue and Me module in a while, as I mostly work on Pandas, but I'm sure someone can give details.

I know there's no corrosion because the car is in mint new condition and stored in the garage, she only comes out to play when it's dry. I appreciate your feedback and I certainly will look at getting it disconnected. I wouldn't have a clue about a proxi alignment but I can live with the flashing mileage i suppose. My major concern is keeping the battery from draining. Thank you for your support.
