Hi my engine management light came on yesterday, stating stop start unavailable and drive mode unavailable. Any idea as to why?
Any help much appreciated 👍

Thank you I have noticed that the battery is around 50%.
So I’ll give that a try before the cold weather hits.

Had my battery tested it’s ok engine management reset.
The stop start still doesn’t work any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Sorry I don't know anything about stop start. A bad earth can cause all kinds of electrical problems, so I would be tempted to clean battery terminals and main earth cable connections, maybe run a secondary earth like a jump lead from battery negative to engine block, see if that helps.

Then it might be time to scan for diagnostic trouble codes, although on the threads linked above any DTCs seemed inconclusive.

For the stop start to work correctly the battery has to be well charged, if your new battery has been on the shelf for a while before you got it even tho' a test shows it ok it may not have enough change to operate the stop start system. Further are you sure the stop start is switched on?

Thanks for the advice I didn’t get the code info sorry. But the stop/start is working correctly now, it just started when I turned the engine on the other morning. On my dash the battery shows 14 and when I was driving it went up to 16. Hope this information is helpful.
Cheers

Glad it’s working now. 16v sounds a bit high to me though so keep an eye on it. Make sure you get a fault code if it returns
