Technical fiat 500 starting problems

Hi all I have a 2010 Fiat 500 1200cc petrol - just started struggling to start, seems like full starvation. any ideas what could be the cause please ?

Maybe you need a new battery.

thanks, but it cranks OK so we are confident it's not the battery nor the earth lead. Fault seems to be possibly fuel related because it strugles to fire, but once it does it's fine.
