I've been browsing through Car and Classic and found that prices for 500s are lower than they were when I bought mine in June '23. Have prices come down since then or are prices generally lower over the winter months?

I think that you will find a general 'softening' of Classic car prices. Not so long ago, a M/B 300SL "Gullwing" could not be found for UNDER 1 Million pounds---they are (in Europe) now down to about £850,000, and a lot of other classic prices are going the same way.

Excellent! I'll have the Gullwing and 15-20+ good 500s for my million quid :D

The late winter is normally the lowest time for classic car prices. Once we get a few sunny weekends and people start seeing classics on the road again prices will jump up, especially for cars like the 500 which many people think of as a 'sunny day' kind of car.

Not to say that the overall trend isn't for classic prices dropping a little generally, but if you paid 'summer prices' for your car it might not have lost as much as you think!

in general Classics have dropped, I guess people have less money for toys and people with toys perhaps are worried they may need the cash...
Comments from a Lotus group I am in, also feel the same, however top class restorations are still holding strong, the logic being ... "those with the real money are not really affected by interest rates or cost of living"

Prices dropping are always a double edged sword. Annoying for those with ‘assets’ which are worth less, but good for those looking to buy into a market. Maybe they can afford a car to enjoy driving that was previously unaffordable 🙂
