Hi there,

I've just joined as I want to pimp out my Black Fiat 500 without spending a fortune and would like some advice!

I have the original hubcaps (Pop), but really want something new. Have looked into the chrome Fiat trims - very attractive but fear the chrome will get scratched very easily and look naff very quickly??

Thought about buying a set of hubcaps off Ebay (those in the attachment below!)

Does anyone know if these will just clip onto the wheels of my 500 like the original current hubcaps do? I checked and I need 14" trims, so that should be fine.

Final question - if I want to get a set of hubcaps, will the original Fiat centre caps clip onto them, or is that not possible? If it is, can you suggest a set of black hubcaps that will allow this?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

Emma

Hi Emma, welcome to the forum.

The original Fiat wheel covers in chrome are vey hard wearing and as long as you don't clean them with a gritty sponge, will not scratch.
They look really nice and defiantly add something.

The wheel covers in the link should fit fine but the centre cap area may be a different diameter to the fiat badge.

I guess it comes down to whether you want to keep an OEM (original) or aftermarket look.

Consider that genuine FIAT trims come with a designed-in (Luna?) anti-theft feature – the trims can’t just be levered off in seconds.
I’m assuming this-is-so for the 500.
Personally I’d go with a contrasting colour rather than black-on-black.
Check-out shop4parts site.

Hi Emma, yes do check shop4parts website for 14" trims, they are a reliable company.

btw: I bought a set of 14" trims for the winter steel wheels, we used the trims for one season only (around 3 months), didn't bother using them last winter, they are sitting in the garage. We paid £51.11 from shop4parts (have the receipt), if you or anyone wants them welcome to take them for £25 - slight scuff marks. We live in the Surbiton area.

FF : Sorry if I am breaking any Forum rules, no ill intention intended.

Consider that you are so very wrong

Well, my Fiat hubcaps can be pulled off pretty easily, so my question was whether or not these will be the same considering they aren't Fiat original.

Also, thank you for your responses. I am considering buying centre caps for my current Fiat hubcaps and perhaps buying the trims I posted above. That way I will have a couple of options and consider what I think looks best.
