Hello

So I'm trying to figure out a issue with a fiat 500 0.9 where it will randomly cut out at roundabouts. It doesn't happen when driving a constant speed such as on a motorway but happens only when approaching round about where it cuts out and then when cranking it just cranks over but doesn't start. To make it even more confusing if I then leave the car for 20-30 minutes and come back to it, it will magically start up again and drive.

Where should I start looking? Car has been scanned and has no engine codes. I was at first thinking it's something to do with the start stop function but it doesn't explain why it happens approaching the roundabout and then why it doesn't want to start up (just cranks)

If anyone knows what it could be it would be greatful.

Thank you.

A long shot.. but it might be worth checking your fuel tank for damage. Also check that your fuel tank ventilation is working. Do you get a whoosh when you take the fuel cap off?

Thanks for replies guys, drove the car today on a 2 post ramp and there was no signs of cutting out etc just the start stop system working as it should. Must have driven a good 5 miles and everything was fine.

Will try again tomorrow. Weird how there is no codes in the system and sometimes it's perfectly fine and yet I sold the car to customer and they said it cut out and wouldn't start again.

Just checked oil level and it was 1 litre overfilled, have heard these engines can turn of if oil too low or even too high so I have taken a litre out of it now and just driving it on the ramp again to see if it will cut out again or not.
