I'm really interested in how Fiat will change the dashboard to accommodate the new Uconnect system.
I wonder if they will adapted the existing Panda dashboard for it or go the cheap way and put a 500 dashboard in it.

More of the same only different? I guess I shouldn't be surprised as this class of vehicle is all about the 'experience' as you sit in it rather than the way it drives or works, but it'd be nice to see the suspension and the power addressed. I'm not after a snorting sports car (wrong vehicle altogether) but there are improvements that could be made.

I don't see the improvement, it certainly does not look better, IMHO.
I think the Panda dash looks so much better then the 500 dash.

In 2016 and 2017, the new GSE engines will be introduced. (Global Small Engines)
These new entirely aluminum GSE engines will be natural aspirated and turbocharged.
These engines will have 1.0 ltr and 1.3 ltr volume.

1.0 ltr volume (3 cylinder)
GSE 1.0 6V (± 80 hp)
GSE 1.0 12V Turbo

and 1.3 ltr volume (4 cylinder)

GSE 1.3 8V (± 105 pk)
GSE 1.3 16V Turbo


The natural aspirated versions will have:

a camshaft with variable valve timing, a variable flowing oil and water pump, a low-friction distribution chain, a integrated exhaust manifold to the cylinder head, start/stop will be as standard.

The Turbo versions will have more:

twin scroll turbo, integrated air to water intercooler to the intake manifold, direct injection, MultiAir.

The 3-cylinder engines, should debut soon in Europe.

Apparently TwinAir days are numbered.
The TA engines consume a lot more fuel compare to modern 3 cilinders.

That's a shame, I don't like the noise 3 cylinder cars make at all.....how long have we got?

I'm with you on that one, i'm very happy with my TA turbo 85hp/145Nm.
And i reckon that the TwinAir turbo 85 will be around to the end of this models lifetime.
The basic "non" turbo 3 cilinder engine will have only around 80 hp and around 98 Nm of torque.
The turbo 3 cylinder would probably have up to 120 hp and 170 Nm of torque.

So the twinair turbo would suit just fine between them.

Keep in mind that the TA turbo is just a 875cc engine, most 3 cylinder engines have volumes between 1.0ltr and 1.2ltr.
So in simple terms, the 875cc TA engine use more fuel then most 1.0ltr to 1.2 ltr 3 cylinder engines by the same MPG.

To be honest, the 3-cylinder thrum was the only thing I liked about the Aygo we hired.

Wonder if the non-turbo twin-air is poor on fuel in real life. I guess we'd need an Italian to inform.

Those spy shots show us nothing new. Main thing they need is a more extensive colour palette.

Don't expect much from the facelift on the outside, it will be more about tech upgrades, like the new multi media Uconnect system, new interior and exterior colors, and maybe a new engine to replace the "non" turbo TA and 1.2 FIRE.

Yes, they are more or less 3 and 4 cylinder, TwinAir engines with further tech upgrades.

That's alright then. It'll be sad when they finally stop making the FIRE engine range, but as long their replacements are proper Fiat engines, I'm happy, lol!
