Urgh what a ballache, so I thought in preperation to getting a tuning kit I'll ring up and find out how much roughly my premium will go up.

They can't give me a quote untill I get an engineers report form.

The girl on the end of the phone, was useless as they always are and when I asked several different questions she rattled off the same stuff but in a different order and worded slightly different. Even when I asked "So do I need to fit the tuning kit first, then get the form" She replies: Once we get the form back our underwriters can give a quote on the increase of premium.

So I think what I'll do is, ask the more qualified people here: Those of you who dont work for an insurance company, as I'm bound to get some actual sense.

What the hell am I doing here? Am I getting the kit fitted, then getting the form filled out. Do I get it filled out before then fitted then filled out again?

I'm 23, driving for a year september just gone. Currently paying £1,038.62 a year with 1 years no claims, quoted 966 or something. Which to my displeasure of finding out that if you pay monthly you pay a monthly charge for an automated system to take money from you and give to them. Oddly enough, I don't quite think many other places do this but this is a side rant best left for another day. What roughly do you think my insurance will go up? I'm planning on getting the TMC tuning kit.

Most insurance companies will charge you to pay monthly as its usually some sort of credit agreement you enter into as opposed to paying in one lump sum. Your insurance usualy is an agreement for a year not per month.

On a side note I am glad I have not just passed my test , over a grand for insurance. I am 280 fully comp on a new 2.0Mjet (only a few years older than you as well ;-) )

so who are you with, if you dont mind me asking as my wife is 37 with 5 years ncb and is paying a good 25% more than that on a 150 mjet sport

Aye I know itll go up but I just wondered by how much tbh.

Danny, the extra three years I have on you obviously making the difference. I really can't wait till I'm 25.. 1 year and 1 month away, cheaper insurance here we go!
