Hi - just bought a Hymer motorhome based on the above. Covered about 200 miles and she ran fine, then today we got stuck in heavy traffic. Temp crept up to about 60% on gauge and suddenly when I went to change gear I noticed revs weren't dropping away instantly even though foot was right off pedal. It stayed at full revs for about 3-5 seconds then dropped. Also noticed once we got to cruise speed (60) that if pedal wasn't hard down we sensed almost a misfire / lumpiness in the engine. As soon as we got out of traffic and temp dropped back the sticking at gear change vanished, however the lumpiness at 80-90% throttle hasn't. Engine has only covered 40k miles and has been serviced etc on the book.
Any ideas on where to start would be useful - I'm mechanically savvy but no experience of Fiats.
Thanks folks.

Hi Deejer

So for the late reply and hopefully you will have now sorted out the problem, but if not then I also brought a Hymer motor home last year on a 2001 base Ducato and before I picked it up the dealer was experiencing the same fault. He sent the van to a fiat main dealer as his local garage did change the throttle control board but this did not cure the problem. The main dealer then contacted Fiat in Italy and they said yes there has been a problem with this year of vehicle and the problem was with a component/joint behind the dash board.

I do not seem to have that problem any more just an intermittent injector fault which started after me going over some speed humps but hopefully I am getting find the fault once I can get the diagnostics to communicate with a scanner or PC.

Hope this helps
