I'm looking at buying a Fiat 500 but I'm wary of buying a Lounge version because of the amount of chrome on it.

I once I a scooter with chrome plated parts and they rusted within a year !

Has any long term owners had any rust issues ?

Does anyone know if the Door handles etc are chrome plated or solid chrome ( I don't know if thats possible )

What I'm worried about is having a 5 year old 500 with rusty chrome all over it !

Any replies appreciated :)

My exhaust tip is like new still, even tough it is soon to be three years old. And we drive on salted roads for 5-6months of the year:eek: But offcourse I wash, polish and wax it regulary(y) As others said, the crome is really plastic so it wont become rusty:)

The exhaust pipe should last a while if it's washed, dried and polished regularly. The coated plastic surfaces can become a little faded if left without a regular wash but they buff up again easily. As Funky Spike said, bubbles can appear in the boot handle. Mine had some small bubbles forming just before I got rid of it and my car was garaged nightly, washed every week and fully detailed every 3 months or so. Just keep an eye on the boot handle and exhaust tip and you should be fine.
