Hi guys. I noticed that my Fiat Grande Punto natural power started a couple of months ago to make a " chirping" sound, some sort of a metallic rubbing sound when pressing the clutch. It isn't loud, but I notice the change of sound between pressing and lifting the clutch. The car doesn't have any kind of power decrease or revs number problem. Is it the throw out bearing? It started after i used for some months a defective starter... could it be the cause? Thanks guys.

I presume you hear this noise just from pressing the clutch, but not
When driving i do not hear it, i only hear it when pressing clutch. I even noticed that there is a little more resistance when moving the gear knob to the right in neutral without pressing clutch than when moving it to the left

I bought a punto with this noise a few years ago. I didn't understand what it meant...but two months later when the clutch failed, i understood perfectly.
So it was the throw out bearing? Did your gears grind?

I got a smell inside the car, i thought that smell was some petrol making its way inside. In hindsight the smell was the throw out bearing failing to disengage the clutch.

I drove it until the bearing broke and i could no longer get the car into gear. There was no grinding from the gears. I had a new clutch put in - the whole kit including the throw out bearing.

And what could be the cause of that added resistance I feel when moving the knob from neutral to the right when not pressing gear? In your opinion

I don't think it means anything,

It sounds like you have a failing clutch, and you'll need to address that.
I thought about it too because when I am accelerating at "high" speeds such as 90 km/h in 5th gear, I feel like the clutch pedal vibrates a little bit
