I'm looking into fitting 17 inch 7J rims shod with 205/40 17 tyres on my 100HP, can anyone assist me, will this fit on the Panda.

thanks for the welcome, really cool forum

They may well fit, but you will ruin the ride and the handling, plus it might make the car look like it's on stilts. The car is over-tyred on 195s as it is. Also think it will make tramlining a whole lot worse.

Hmm, thinking about it, I'm not seeing any benefits!

And it has the usual insurance problems, they are getting stricter and stricter about this kind of modification now. Many people on the Corsa forum found even just by lowering it and changing the wheels they had to use specialist insurance companies.

FIAT fitted the wheels it came with for a reason.

what... FIAT FITTED IT FOR A REASON ... what bull to say.. sorry but the standard panda came on 155 80 13 wheels its rubbish its like a boat, going to a 15" does more than a lowering.. i drive on 16" inch 195.45 no problems.. 17" well it looks to big on the standard car.. but it can be done but max is 195 i would say.. with 40 in profile hight.. on a 17"

HP is standard 195/45/15s though.

Actually the Pandas 13" tyres are perfect. With a 54bhp engine the last thing you want is to have modern fat wide tyres. The profile of the tyres also helps the ride quality from what is quite a basic chasis.

The Panda is a budget car and as a result does away with the silly low profile tyre crap. My dads Fiesta has low profile tyres (standard from Ford) but has a 1.3 push rod engine, all the tyres do is make the ride quality worse.

I just cannot imagine anything than a Panda riding on 205/40/17s.

The Panda rides like a boat because it is a budget car, it is essentialy the cheapest new car you can buy at the moment. It costs the same as a three year old Fiesta. For most pot holed city driving though I still much prefer the comfort of the standard setup, it is just a damn shame about the lack of a rarer ARB.

Yes it helps The ride quality... it riders like a boat if You Want it to.. lowering and low profile tires Willy make it a gokart.

I think the standard Panda handles ok on the OE 13" rims. Yeah it aint a Lotus bit its ok for a cheap little city car. The 15's on the 100HP are perfect for the car and the biggest size that should be fitted IMO. Once again the 100HP aint no Lotus but come on its a cheap city car and its good for that. As far as I am concerned fitting anything bigger will ruin the handling and is just done for looks only. Although I think a Panda on 17's looks stupid, like one of those comedy monster trucks.

havnent driven one with 15" but ill think your right the best handling/comfort is posibly on 15" personal 17" is to big 16" is my choise and ill live with that looks best. well the person that asked only needed to know how not if we think its a good idear
