Hello everyone,

I’m encountering an issue with my Fiat Ducato (2022+, 3 gen 2FL, HS), and I’d like to get some insights from the community. The vehicle is currently at a standstill, but I’m seeing some inconsistencies in the CAN data, which may be related to sensor issues or communication errors.

The vehicle is equipped with a Ruptela HCV5 module, which is connected via OBD and CANBus. The data I’ve pulled from the system shows the following anomalies:

  1. Engine Coolant Temperature: The temperature is shown as -40.00°C, which typically indicates a sensor malfunction. This temperature is outside normal operating ranges.
  2. Vehicle Speed: Even though the vehicle is stopped, the speed is 0.00 km/h, which seems fine, but I’m wondering if this is the expected behavior for this setup.
  3. TCO Distance: The TCO distance reads 4294967295000, which seems like an invalid or extreme default value.
  4. Battery and GSM Signal: The external battery voltage is normal (13962), and the GSM signal strength is slightly lower (30) than usual, but still within acceptable ranges.

Could this be related to any issues with the CAN bus or the sensors in my Fiat Ducato? Is anyone else using the Ruptela HCV5 module with similar configurations, and have you faced issues like this?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

We have no documentation on the forum on such new vehicles. I think that you should first check if the same values are the also strange reading directly from CAN with a FIAT compatible diagnostic tool. And depending on the answer, you should probably contact the Ruptela representative.

Might be that their system is not fully compatible with the version of your vehicle.

FIAT compatible diagnostic tool is a good description as i dont know if MES is fully compatible with a 2022. A BCM based SGW secure gateway may be part of your problem ie Might be that their system is not fully compatible with the version of your vehicle. Another vote for green vanpers post.
edit looking at your avitatar shouldnt it be theREDvanperson

Green is the engine ;) however powered up with the blue fuel...

The van is red, but will be greenish gray, or grayish green ;)
Always wondered about the fuel and availability, just like french E85 i dont think such fuels exist in Britain, or is your fuel LPG in uk Propane. The greenest i ever got was 75/25 sunflower oil /diesel in my 97 Bongo. Its one of those wish i still had it cars.

Natural gas, domestic gas, or how it should be called. At least 98% of methane, CH4. OK, not that popular as the deadly diesel, but can't complain:
