Can anyone tell me what the "pipe" from the inlet manifold to the the one way valve on the brake servo does?
Porter, on page 130, has a long side bar on replacing it and as I had to cut the hose to get it off the manifold, I have to replace it. I'd like to know what it does. However, they don't tell you much on what it does.
Porter says that if it is cracked, it can cause the engine to run roughly which may have some effect on a topic in a previous thread.
Merci,
Auguste

it is the vacuum pipe. it provides the servo with negative pressure form the inlet manifold. if its not there, the servo wont work effectively also, the engine could start sucking in more air than it requires, sometimes this doesnt happen tho. replace the pipe with some more pipe of a simuler bore, itll be ok :)
