Hello,

My 2020 Panda Cross is having an issue with the release on the boot.

It has always had an intermittent issue where you would press the boot switch and it would not release, however it always sort itself after a few minutes.

Now, the switch has stopped working completely. You can still get the boot to open using the key. But not the door.

Any suggestions how to fix it? Thanks.

Can you claify. You mean the boot (3rd button on the plip) does not work? But the boot unlocks when you operte the drivers door inside the car?? Or the key in the door lock.?
Okay so the panda cross has a plastic panel on the back with houses 2 number plate lights, and the boot handle.

The boot handle on this plastic panel is no longer working. I took it apart to have a look, and it is an electric switch. Rather than the spring system on the older 500 / Pandas. Any idea?

Clean the microswitches with electrical contact cleaner. Ensure the rubber cover of the handle is in tact and seal the edges with silicon sealant once the inside of the switch is cean and dry. You should be bale to test the microswitch with a multimeter to make sure its working. Clean the lock thoroughly as any sticking may alos sstop the system. Once clean lub the whole lock with silicon lubricant. Make sire the Panda plastic strip with teh lights is weather sealed too.

When the handle sticks, just slightly, it messes up the microswitch. It does not move cleanly and fully from open to closed. This results in the whole thing not working. You may also have a faulty key plip with a stuck microswitch. If this is the case it may need a new key / plip. AFter really cleaning our older style one mine it worked as normal for 5 years when we sold the car.

We had a Micra which had similar problems and I found and fitted a new microswitch. It was fiddly but made it work properly again. The swich cost very little.

Yes, it's a pressure switch..

Several GUIDES on here detail the strip /clean

Common to Panda and 500 2006 on
