The Panda, either 4x4 or 4x2, even the Cross, no longer have the boot light: does anybody know if the wiring is still there, as it happened in some basic models of the Panda 169? In that case the wiring was under the carpet in the boot and the procedure to add the light was pretty straightforward. I was wondering if this can be done also for these more recents Pandas.

This is the old thread for the Panda 169: https://www.fiatforum.com/threads/boot-light-retrofit.474392/

Boot light is fitted as standard on my 23 Panda Cross 4wd , not sure where your getting your info from.

From my own brand new Panda 4x40°… and from the new Pandina at the dealer: no boot light

I think that as Stellantis (Fiat) are probably in scavenger mode, using up parts before the ICE models are discontinued, I would expect the wiring loom to include a boot light plug (not sure it would be viable to make a new loom design just to delete a boot light?) .

I would have a little explore behind the trim in the boot - I think it is on the right hand side facing forwards(?) I don't have my car in front of me to check! If the actual light comes with a short harness to plug in then don't be surprised that the plug in the main harness is not immediate to the light position.

I wouldn't be surprised to find the trim is partially cut to pop out the light "hole" too?

The trim hasn’t got the hole, in case I find the wiring, then it must be a Dremel thing or find the trim with the hole as a replacement part at the dealer

Gotta agree , when I picked mine up in June 23 it was 1 of 6 coming to the dealer and in turn they were the last batch of 4wd's coming to UK in RHD , only 2wd's after .
All 6 had boot light etc so maybe Fiat have run out as above.

The outline of the hole might be in the back of that panel, and you might be lucky and find the plug taped to the back of it too. You need to fold the seat to access a couple of the fixings.

Then its divine retribution for not letting us also buy either The 4x40⁰ or the Pandina. Or indeed any Pandas now.
The wires would be under the left side carpet trim near the seatbelt reel but I bet they are not there. Cost cutting and pushing you towards that 'horrid thing' now masquerading as a Panda. I bet IT has a boot light.

the only hope is that the wiring is the same as previous versions, so they just removed the light - hopefully for cost saving measures the production of a new wiring was not convenient

In case it helps, here’s the plug and wire colours you’re looking for. One wire is yellow, the other is red with a green trace along it. The whole black moulding that includes where the light goes, the parcel shelf support and the trim below the little side window is one piece, held by two screws (one just into the boot and one in pointing at) and lots of (likely fragile!) plastic trim clips. The wires on mine emerge from the tape-wrapped bundle that heads off to the left rear light unit.

let me find a replacement trim at the junkyard so that I can practice. in the meanwhile I put in the boot a small battery operated light with motion sensor

the link in your post is for a 2017 Panda TwinAir Lounge, NOT the old Panda 169

I suspect the boot / luggage compartment layout, wiring and tailgate latch mechanism (which operates the boot light) could well be the same as your car 🙂 (does the dashboard door warning light come on when the boot is not properly closed?)

The final post explains in detail how the owner successfully retrofitted a fully functioning boot light with a replacement plastic side panel (costing £31) containing the correct slot for the plastic light fitting to snap in to.

Worth a look I think 🤞

Yes, my car had the dashboard warning. BTW, this is the thread that I had in mind: on the 169 the procedure seem easier
