Hi all, thanks for your help so far by exploring previous posts, but I now can't find something I'm sure I've seen.

My rather hamfisted attempts to diagnose a non start issue makes.me.wonder if I've inadvertently not put the fuses & relays back in the correct place (under bonnet next to battery)

Is there please a layout plan showing correct value and placement. I've ordered some new relays, which should arrive tomorrow (Amazon clearly don't realise it's Easter!!) so rather hoping I get lucky.

Thanks for the help 👍

Right there's several different engines at least 3

The wiring changed around 2007

Tell me the year and I will post the nearest one I can find

Aircon
Dialogic
Climate control
Or standard heaters will affect the fuses

No start, is that no cranking or not firing

Thanks, it's a 2005 car (my sons) that's turning over but not firing. I'm exploring some earlier suggestions on a similar post, mainly potential fuel pump issue and o ring leaks.

I'm no great mechanic but working through ideas, is it possible it could be an immobiliser issue as the key is a simple one and not a battery-based fob. Also there seems to be a clicking sound from the dash area whilst turning over.

No Aircon or Climate C of any sort, it's very base model I think.

If the light comes on and goes out

You know

the key is read by the BSI and passed on to the ECU, confirmed as correct passed back to the BSI and then passed to the dash to switch the light off

Nothing is 100% but it's pretty close

You need roughly 300 rpm while cranking to get enough pressure for the engine to start

If you have a scan to logging the rpm is as good a place to start as any

Which dash light are you referring to, as the yellow engine management light stays alight.

This is my panel but I'm worried I may have put a relay or a fuse back in the wrong slot when I removed to check/clean.

There are several maxi fuse slots empty, guess these are for Aircon that I don't have??

I can't find an exact match, but it look close to this

Yours will have glow plugs extra over this one

The correct info is both in the owners manual

And if you look carefully on the inside of the black cover it's marked on the inside
