Blue & Me - Tech Info and questions and answers

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone had any ideas for my post below.....?

Cheers.

----------------------------

Hey ppl, sorry this is like a typical 'newbie' message but need some help!
Just got an 07 plate sporting 1.9 with the Blue & Me, has been working fine with my phone and ipod.
Then after a few days, it now wont work properly. It recognises my Nokia mobile and both 'attatch' to each other, and it is still playing my ipod songs through the system. BUT if i press the menu button on the right of the steering wheel, or the voice command/ windows button on the left of the wheel, or the change track buttons NOTHING happens! Yet it will continue to play the songs and the volume buttons and the pause and cancel buttons on the wheel still work. Does anyone know what has happened here and how i can get it back to work as is really frustrating! What can i do?!?!?
Cheers,
Shaun.

Hi,

somebody knows how to see the version of blue&me installed ?

Thanks...

Hi there

Am about to collect my new Fiat Bravo and now need to buy a new phone! Have checked the compatability lists and see the Sony Ericsson W610i is listed as fully compatible but the K800i is marked only as potentially compatible. Can anybody share their experiences (good or bad) with either phone before i make my decision?

Many thanks

Not sure if you think your reply is funny T14086 but after having spent the best part of £13000 on a car the very least I would expect was for all the parts to work correctly, perhaps you should not reply to what are very serious postings if you can only reply with so called mirth.

hang on............who said I was replying to you?

I have had no issues using either the k750i or k800i...I actually use these for testing the system.

I've just bought my Fiat Bravo and am playing with Blue & Me. My phone works brilliantly (SE w610i) either in bluetooth mode for phone calls or connected via USB key for mp3 player. However, is there anyway I can use both at the same time (ie have my phone plugged in to play music and use it to make calls)? I tried to access the phone book while the pgne was plugged in via USB and it didn't find it.

Also, can I set my home in navigation? THe system finds my coordinates but can I get it to remember them?

Appreciate any help you can offer!

Moto Razr2 series don't work nicely with Blue&Me. Probably uses a slightly different OS. The old Razr V3 works perfectly though. Dealer cannot do much. Although there are Blue&Me upgrades out there, it won't help much in your case.

From my experience, almost all Windows Mobile phones work perfectly with Blue&Me, except the SMS reader.

As I said before, it's unacceptable to have an issue because of the OS! Bluetooth is a standard, should it be correctly implemented, it won't generate all these problems! My guess is that it's a little bit the fault of both parts: as RAZR2 connects ok with other devices, so does B&M, so the problem is connecting with each other; that means they step "just a little bit" on each others toe!

Regardless, what can we do? I don't think dealer will help - it needs a software update, when and if will be released by Fiat/Alfa. As Fiat recognizes on their compatibility test with v8: "Upon a key off of the Blue&Me device the phone doesn’t disconnect itself from Bluetooth. As a result its functionality with the Blue&Me device may be compromised".

This is exactly what I observed: everything works ok at the first pairing, until the first time you turn off the engine. After that, the phone continues to believe it's still connected, and no matter what you do (turn on/off, etc), the only thing that helps is deleting the pairing and recreating it again - but that's crazy!

So the only possible help might come from a firmware upgrade from Moto for phone or from Fiat/AR for B&M.

This is a very similar issue to the problems that I have had with both the SonyEricsson K800i and W880i. It's intermittent, and turning the phone off and then back on again fixes it, but the fact that a Motorola phone behaves similarly, definitely points to a firmware problem with Blue&Me rather than with SonyEricsson or Motorola firmware.

just got a K850i works well with B&M all functions working , and set up is a doddle. had n viewty lg u990 for a day will not work at all with B&M.

Well, not exactly: Moto is not working well anymore after the first disconnect, being it because engine turn off or you walk out with the phone at distance. After that, only deleting the connection and pairing it again helps, turning the phone on/off doesn't. And something interesting I observed: this is true only if the phone looses the connection "unexpectedly" (like because engine turn off) - if one disconnects the phone from its menu before engine turning off, the connection it's ok. Of course, you cannot be expected that each time before turning off the engine, first disconnect the phone from its menu...(n)
Still, I'm not arguing that a firmware update for B&M could solve the problem... as my Moto works well with a Bluetooth headset...

Same for the Touch Dual, my new phone :D.

You'd think a Microsoft phone would work with a Microsoft handsfree system perfectly . . .

I have enabled Bluetooth SIM Access but nothing :(.

Touch Dual will be my next one as soon as T-Mobile Hungary offers it. ;) Which Dual you got, 16 or 20 keys? The only thing doesn't work for me, is the automatic GPRS connection via Blue&Me auto update. My old Qtek 8500 connected automaticaly (and after a while the Blue&Me lady told me that there was a server error or something, and then Blue&Me even disconnected my phone GPRS connection automaticaly), but this one doesn't seem to connect.

great phone got one too!! SMS reader does not work on mine though too

Orange use the 16 key version. Haven't tried the GPRS function yet, just miffed that the message reader doesn't work.

I've still only got one phone to work on it - the lovely Nokia 6310i! :D

People can hardly hear me!!!

Hiya guys

just wondered if anybody else had the same problem as me? People are really struggling to hear me when calling with Blue & Me, also its having problems with voice commands too. its as though the mic is too far away.
