Hey guys,

Had some problems with my Blue&Me recently. The Windows button on the steering wheel no longer gets you in to B&M. And also somebody called me the other day and the answer button didn't work and I had to manually answer the call, which then routed through B&M fine! Has anyone else experienced these problems?

With regard to the music side of things - my ipod despite being 18 months old was incompatible because it was too old! I therefore bought a 4gb usb drive - only problem is that tracks don't automatically switch to the next track at the end of the song. Does anybody know of any software that will automatically switch tracks?

Ta.

Hi,

My iPod worked and that's over 2 years old now... You need to check that your music files are stored as MP3 not the Apple AAC format.

Not sure what the problem would be with the USB drive. Have you tried using the "Play Anything" option in B&M? That should play tracks at random.

Best of luck.

Rob

the stereos set to loop you can turn it off in the stereos menu, or if you get the windows button working you can press it then say "loop off"

Yes I did think of the MP3 AAC formatting difference, but they were on as mp3. Also my Creative Zen, which I used Windows Media to put the songs on in mp3 format, didn't work.

Thanks for that one - will give it a try...

Don't risk it!

I have a D900 (not the i) and although it connects, it also disconnects at random. I've reverted to my D600.

By lumping what is quite a complex subject into one thread make it far less useful than it could be. At least allowing two separate threads - Media Player and Phones - would be a start. You can't expect a newbie to read 300+ posts.

The list of compatible phones linked to at the beginning is out of date as well.

http://213.215.170.74/blue_and_me/tab_com.html

but that is still behind the times.

What would be good is if people who came here posted all the phones they had tried. How about a simple "Phones that are compatible" thread?

Blue & Me Problem! Please Help!!

Hey ppl, sorry this is like a typical 'newbie' message but need some help!
Just got an 07 plate sporting 1.9 with the Blue & Me, has been working fine with my phone and ipod.
Then after a few days, it now wont work properly. It recognises my Nokia mobile and both 'attatch' to each other, and it is still playing my ipod songs through the system. BUT if i press the menu button on the right of the steering wheel, or the voice command/ windows button on the left of the wheel, or the change track buttons NOTHING happens! Yet it will continue to play the songs and the volume buttons and the pause and cancel buttons on the wheel still work. Does anyone know what has happened here and how i can get it back to work as is really frustrating! What can i do?!?!?
Cheers,
Shaun.

Had my new gps 1.4 tjet a week now. It's great apart from Blue and me which is driving me mad.

Sometimes it works fine - usually when i use it for the first time that day.

Then if i try to make a 2nd call it all goes pear shaped. Sometimes it causes

my phone (motorola razr2 v9) to switch off(!!!) sometimes it makes the call but is completely muted in the car. Sometimes the person i am calling gets
nothing, sometimes they can hear me but i can't hear them.

Then it won't reconnect. i have to turn my phone off and on again, or even pull overe and turn the engine off and start again.

It is driving me insane.

Is there a solution??? is there a modern phone that will work with no probs?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Blue and Me - driving me mad

I've had my new GPS a couple of weeks, and whilst theres a lot i love about it(my other car is an Audi Q7 so it has lots to live up to!), it is seriously letting itself down because of Blue and Me.

Now i am very technically savvy, yet i cannot for the life of me work out where things are going wrong with B&M.

I have a motorola RAZR2 V9, which paired up no probs and sent the phonebook no probs. That's the only good news.

Generally, when i get in the car the phone and B&M pair up, and the first call is no problem-so long as it's made via phonebook.

If i try to use the last call list, or voice dial, no chance. It either attempts to call then ends the call and crashes(the car now thinks there's no phone - the phone thinks it's still connected), or seems to be making the call but has muted the whole thing so i can't hear(sometimes the other person can hear
me, sometimes not).

Also, if i make a succesful call using the phonebook, then attempt to make a 2nd, it crashes in much the same way as above.

It also keeps turning my phone off completely!

I haven't even tried the media functions yet, as i don't think i have it in me atm!!

So, what is my next move? Could it be my phone? Is there a modern phone that is certain to work with no conflict probs? Is there something a dealer
can do?(my dealer is 150 miles away so not sure how happy the local fiat dealer will be).

From experience, i am sure the real problem is the fact that B&M is a windows product and therefore utter garbage (i am a mac user, but have a windows pc aswell).

Where do i stand with insisting this is put right or rejecting the car? As far as i am concerned, the handsfree system is an integral part of why anyone would buy a GPS.

Not happy:confused:

jimowl

ps i have been through all 21 pages of the B&M sticky, there is nothing there that suggests a fix

Moto Razr2 series don't work nicely with Blue&Me. Probably uses a slightly different OS. The old Razr V3 works perfectly though. Dealer cannot do much. Although there are Blue&Me upgrades out there, it won't help much in your case.

From my experience, almost all Windows Mobile phones work perfectly with Blue&Me, except the SMS reader.

I'm totally with you jimowl....this hideous handsfree system without doubt ruins the new GPS ownership experience. Huge shame!

It's simply a case of pot luck as to whether it works or not. My dealer, although very good at helping in other ways, knows very little about Blue & Me and cannot fix the problems I've had. I'm not able to copy contacts from my phone (LG U990) and the endless list of media player problems had at one point made me look like an extra from 'One flew over the Cuckoo's nest'!!

I too am 'very technically savvy' and feel a wee bit ashamed that this product has beaten me. But for you it looks like you could play the ace card and buy a phone that definitely works with the system.

I wish you the very best of luck....

I have tried a few phones over the year that I have had my GP 130 (see earlier postings), my latest phone is a Nokia N81 8gig, this pairs up very easily(and connects every time I get in the car), the phonebook has to be sent via buisness card, not automatically, the message reader does not work but my ringtone does work.... so all in all it is a bit of a compromise.. my preference is to be able to make and recieve calls clearly while driving, I can always read my messages when I stop. The frustrating part to all this is in this day and age and with two huge names like FIAT and MICROSOFT we should not have to settle for compromises and the two should get together and deliver a quality product that works on at least most modern phones because lets face it we all change our phones more than our cars.

Not sure if you think your reply is funny T14086 but after having spent the best part of £13000 on a car the very least I would expect was for all the parts to work correctly, perhaps you should not reply to what are very serious postings if you can only reply with so called mirth.

I don't think T14086 was trying to upset anyone:). The cruel reality is that Blue & Me IS a joke!

Unfortunately, very much like this forum in fact, the Fiat/Microsoft partnership will try and tuck this problematic thorn in the side away from the consumers attention as it has no answers.

The system should never of been rolled out and approved for production and I agree it is a serious matter especially after parting with the money. The sad news is that when car manufacturers make mistakes they will do anything to ignore them. Take a genuinely serious issue like the Renault Clio which has a bonnet catch problem.....it releases at high speed blocking the drivers vision!!). Absolutely nothing was done about this....even high profile media attention from the BBC's Watchdog couldn't influence them to admit that there was a problem.

Blue & Me is here to stay...and so are it's problems!
