Which pic?

hi again,
they are black plastic tubes,
look at this on a PC.. then you'll see all the pictures posted, and linked to,
on this thread

just squeeze the end .., and the wayer will pour out,

reason, = parking under trees is the common one.!,
all the leaves work their way in and build up in the channels,

Ok, so I popped the bonnet this morning and had a look towards the back of my engine, but I couldn't see what it was I was supposed to squeeze (I am going to play the blonde card here:confused:).

I have taken some pics of my engine, one of the driver's side, centre and then the passenger side of the engine. Could someone direct me on these pics what it is I am supposed to squeeze.

Incidentally this morning, after quite a significant downpour of rain over the course of yesterday and last night, when driving to work I could not hear the noise as much when going round corners. Is it possible that the water has slowly worked its way out?

Thank you all so much for your replies, it is reassuring to know that there is somewhere I can come now for advice and answers from knowledgable people.

hi, your car has less room around the airbox than on my 1.1 of 2004..!!

anyway ;
where the BLUE hose goes between the BIG BLACK airbox - on top of engine,
and the brake fluid cap in YELLOW,
follow the BLUE hose toward the rear of the car,
there SHOULD be a short black plasticky hose hanging down , around 4" / 10cm long, between the BLUE hose and the cars metal body , squeeze the lower point , and see what happens,

I'll try and re-post some better pics,;)

EDIT.. on post #10 of this thread I added a pic of my BLUE panda's engine bay..,
the BLUE pipe is identical to yours.., next to it on the left my car has a BLACK rubber pipe ( coolant to heater),
this is the exact position of the plasticky drain pipe = it's directly behind this rubber pipe..

I'll try and find the pics of a RED panda with a better view, = post #3

Ok will give it another go this evening when I get to the car after work - I'm sure people think I am quite strange keep opening my bonnet and looking. So all I need to be looking for is the blue tube at the back of the engine for a black plastic tube and then give this a squeeze - sounds like milking a mechanical cow :D

Ok, so I had another look under the bonnet, but it was quite dark so couldn't really see anything, will try again in the morning. There did look to be quite a few pipes all over the place, am anxious that I'll squeeze the wrong thing.

It'll squeeze fairly easily tbh, so you should be ok when you get the right one :)

Is is correct that the duck-bills just sit in the holes unsecured. Went to milk mine and nearly lost it in the scuttle!

hi again,
I've tried to take pics tonight ( in dark - not good) so here is a cropped close-up of my earlier pic,
panda maint dec 13 001.jpg
at the upper RHS of pic , you'll see a brown plastic bracket( not fitted to your panda) just to the left of the BLUE fuel hose we keep mentioning ;)

behind the Brown bracket you'll spot a Black shiny semi-circle..THIS is the bottom of the drain tube / AKA Duck Bill,
squeeze it's longer edges together,

mission accomplished (y)

once you've got over the elation ..;) you MAY want to do the other one..!!

upper LHS of pic..splashed with mud on my car

You'll notice they are BOTH directly under a shiny Aluminium Rivet on my car,
looks as if your car doesn't have these , or the Sound deadening material ...(n)

naff picture taken in dark

you CAN see the curved lower part of the Duck-bill behind "MY brown bracket" though :D
panda maint dec 13 001.jpg,

over view,

follow the BLUE fuel hose towards the REAR of the car,
trace down the rear of engine-bay ( under a Shelf -type feature),
move slightly LEFT( towards centre of car) ,
that's the duck-bill..!!,

have fun,
Charlie

ok, so I definately know where you're referring to with your pics, when I compare them to mine though, your engine looks totally different, my blue pipe seems to be more central, is that correct?

my engine was half apart..major work I'm writing a GUIDE for..,

from your earlier pictures the Blue fuel pipe is in the same place as mine,
it's just not got the Brown bracket supporting a Water hose..that you haven't got either..!!,
as I say.. follow the BLUE fuel hose under the "shelf"..move slightly LEFT and you'll have found it,

I'll try and do the Daylight pics for a guide at the weekend .

Thank you so so much. I am really surprised that things like this are not covered in the handbook manual.
