Any recommendations for a diagnostic tool that can code the Battery Management System for a new battery on a UK 500 twinair ( with stop/start and two small wires on the negative battery post ). I fitted a new EFB Tayna battery but it doesn’t show any voltage increase when engine runs, whereas it does show an increase when I test the removed AGM battery. Was told I need to code the new battery to the car because of going from an AGM to an EFB.

Model
500 sport twinair 105bhp
Year
2015
Mileage
72000
No coding of battery system required.
This has come up very recently.
Coding of batteries is more if a bmw / vag / maybe even Mercedes thing

The charging system most likely detecting new battery and so not requiring significant charging.

Lots of people get put out by charging systems that charge battery on engine over run - "smart" charging systems
Voltage at engine idle can be low making people think alternator/ charging system not working correctly.

OK, thanks for replying. I had searched the forum and couldn’t see a definitive answer. So the car should self-learn? and how long would that normally take ?

OK, thanks for replying - appreciated. I’ll venture out in the car and keep an eye on battery state and keep the old battery on board for get-me-home peace of mind 🙂.
