I don't really have much future plans apart from completing my to-do list, then tidy her up a bit!

All comments and ideas are welcomed! :) :D
I was in a supermarket carpark the other day, and looking at a similar age Rover. It looked really dated (and seriously rusty). The mk2 styling has stood the test of time pretty well I think.

rover 25? as my friend says about them they worth 25p:devil:
jokes aside, i have to agree on that the mk2 style is great, least fiat did one thing good:p

its your lucky day;)
ive even gone to the trouble to label a few things, messy but youll get the idea im sure:D

a breakdown of these labels for you.

1. the two iso blocks from the car connect to the iso harness adaptor, straight forward!
2. im sure you know what these are:p
3. dark blue wire is the rem wire from the sub, but cause i used flash on my phone the harness rem wire is lit up light blue but its actually a darker blue than this...
4. this harness adaptor is double block for this stereo so this just slots right into the stereo:)
5. wherever you done this already i dont know, but i had to buy a antenna extension.

that very very long red wire you see in the pic, this wire is part of the harness and IIRC it had no connector on it, so i spliced this wire to connect to cigar lighter so its ignition controlled:slayer:
wherever it works without it i dont know youll have to trial and error on that one im afraid, as im not willing to mess with mine:devil:
hope this helps(y)

Your Headunit still works without the ignition on even though its switched by the ignition? Odd that
But the old mk2 was like that, it was Red and yellow wires, yet it still worked WITHOUT ignition!

Ziggy

isnt factory stereo runs off a timer from the canbus system? so when you staryt car a timer is put on? i heard this somewhere so if i am wrong then my source is terrible:rolleyes:
but lets say the mk2 system is weird when it comes to aftermarket stereos:D

havent posted in this thread for a while:eek:

thought id give the car a good wash, wax and full polish!

here is how she looks today!

saving the best to last

thought id take the rear lights off and give the behind of them a good cleaning, even polished behind there too:)

found a slight earth issue on n/s/r light, the "disco effect", so that will be on my todo list when i find the time to....

that it is all for now.

the disco light effect - yet you removed the lights and didnt check them?

it'll take you 5 mins each side once lights removed

I'd do it soon benny, its a quick fix, and it stops people like me going
Don't they ever check there lights?

my feet were killing me so i just wanted to get the lights back in and put my feet up:devil: i have problems with my feet at the moment:(

its a weird issue, like if you pull on the wires the disco effect reduces and is barely noticeable:confused: explain that one? cause ive tried cleaning the spades on the cluster, even did the same on the plug:bang:

So this is what you did, last weekend...!

oh dear god thats hideous:yuck:
i mean the "rat look" is only good on older cars before the 2000 era but modern cars it just looks bad bad bad bad!!

but onto the original question of your comment, not following you:confused:

It's a black, three-door Punto for sale... in Nottingham...! :D

a good weekends work right there homie;) aha only joking id love to meet this owner and say this is how a punto should look not ratty:devil: i mean its bad enough mk2s are known for rust buckets, but actually making it look like a rust bucket is taking it too far:p
