Re: Atticus's Mk2b Punto conversion!

How much has your brown heap set you back? Surely you could've bought something decent with that cash?

Re: Atticus's Mk2b Punto conversion!

It was a genuine compliment, but if you want to know more, here goes: your car wins max power shows because you practically throw money at it and do everything "scene". (although tbh I still fail to see what is so great about having a max power award, personally I'd be insulted).
It means absolutely nothing to me, even though it is nice for a punto, and it will be even better with a ferrari dash. Note i am not bitter that your car wins shows, because mine does exactly what i want it to do as well.

That is all.

Very nice looking car - but, if I'm being honest, it really does look like a 'money no object / Max Muppet orientated' creation - which is likely why it's won Max Muppet awards.....

I guess jealousy (plus a smattering of common sense) means I'd never spam that sort of cash on a car - when I guess the same sort of cash would buy a FAR better set of wheels - but each to their own.

Oh - and the whole Euro thing was old 5 years ago (y)

Life would be boring if we all liked the same stuff though.............. :slayer:

Re: Atticus's Mk2b Punto conversion!

At the time though he spent all the money he had to buy the car, its not asthough he had tonnes of it bought the car then blew £10k+ modding it, the mods have came through time, it would have been understandable to get a better set of wheels if he had the £10k+ at the time, but he didnt so he has made by far the best punto from the money he has earned through the time of owning the car

Re: Atticus's Mk2b Punto conversion!

have you not seen many modded puntos then? this one is a copy of another one the original is still better ;)

Yeah I've seen loads of modified puntos Dave, and in my opinion Atticus's is my favourite. + i've seen the original also, Atticus's it isn't really 'the same' but fair enough.

To be perfectly honest no ones going to win here. Fair enough Atticus has a really nice Punto? Why? Because I'm guessing he works his arse of and dosn't by crap, invests it into his car. Not what I'd do because hes never going to get even half of that money back but I'm sure hes aware of that.

Very nice looking car.

Out of interest what else is on the to do list apart from the new dash?

Are you not eager for something quicker?

If I had spent a **** load of money on the car, I'd probably whack a new engine there at some point too.

Re: Atticus's Mk2b Punto conversion!

No is not what i'd do, perhaps to your taste perhaps not but that is irrevelant. Whats been done has been done. You either like it or you don't, this should be a place of constructive critism, not your a fool for spending so much - his money at end of the day.

Can't believe we still got bitching going on this far into a thread. This is supposed to be a forum for car entusiasts not playground arguments.

On the dash, sounds like a good plan so long as you don't have to cut it so much it becomes not a ferrari dash anymore. I certainly not seen that done before.

Re: Atticus's Mk2b Punto conversion!

Christ! am i the only one that thinks this is just "my car is better than yours"?
Blah blah blah.. if they made a 3 door panda i wouldn't have gone for it! (y)

No one's car is perfect anyway.

I for one like Atticus's punto, you must have a lot of love for your punto (let alone money :p) to pull this off, and i take my hat off to you sir! You have also made a very brown paint job look very nice!

I cannot think why you'd want to fit a Ferrari dash into a punto, i dont know but am guessing the ferrari dash would be a lot wider than the punto one and a lot narrower.. therefore with a lot of modifying it would no longer be as ferrari indended

I do look forward to seeing this, if you do go ahead though.. :)

Spunking thousands on a Punto is NOT an investment.
