I think we'll all be moving swiftly on if that's the case :D

As you're currently Mr Arbroath where would you recommend we go?

well for food i've heard very good things about the bellrock (right across from pleasureland), although it can sometimes be horrendously busy

a few decent pic chances around the harbour and the cliffs too

i know my way about Arbroath a little, not too familiar on places, i'm always just there socially going one or two specific places, i quite like the place though tbh, i'll ask for some reccomendations of places above what i know tomorrow :)

Still planning on avoiding Aberdeen though. In fact I'm aiming to get to Arbroath without using the A90 once :D

Well that's not going to happen now since the Netherley Road is closed at a critical junction - at least not unless I take a serious detour and go over the Cairn o Mount.

Hmm...

Surely your not contemplating going through the cairns just to get to arbroath? Christ that would be one hell of a detour.

Lol, not quite. Cairn o Mount isn't in the Cairngorms and is technically known as the Old Military Road. It would add 20 miles onto my journey but is a very scenic route and much more fun than sitting in Aberdeen traffic

Hard to tell. The forecast I've looked at says there is no more rain due overnight but the flood I drove through to get back into ellon tonight was the worst I've seen in years so I can imagine it's pretty bad elsewhere and may take a while to subside. Plus according to bbc news East Wemyss has serious flooding and that's where Lewis lives so he may not make it either.

really we could do with those interested checking in and saying what their situation is and whether or not they can still attend. I can and I'm also happy to make it later to give flood water a chance to go down. Plus there's no reason we can't relocate if there's enough of us still happy to turn up. Just a thought

the turn out isn't going to be big anyway, i'm still able to do tomorrow but i have huge concerns wether it's viable and more importantly safe

here's the Dundee to Arbroath road earlier today

The flood I drove through to get home was a wee bit less than that but not by much and if truth be told I was selling my soul to any god that exists that I didn't stop half way through.

My only worry is there were a couple of people (Lee and Donna spring to mind) who indicated they might turn up which is why we need to be clear about what is happening. A change of time and venue would make sense and I'm all for it but we need to advertise this sooner rather than later
