To all those who have read my first topic regarding the color decision i have decided to go for a volare blue! The matter of the fact is that even if i don't want a leather interior i have started to think about it.Unfortunately, i don't like the color options that fiat offers and i'm thinking to go for ivory after market leather seats. I know that it's more expensive (fiat's price is 890 euro) because after market costs around 1200 euro (including leather and installation) . I'm posting just to read any relevant experiences of other members .

Good choice on the colour!

If you can get the seats re-trimmed in leather, but you don't really want leather, what about getting them to retrim them in your choice of fabric instead?

Robin i'm gonna place the order tommorow and it will arrive with the ivory checquered seats. Then, i'm planning for total ivory aftermarket leather seats.

The only thing I'd mention is that with the design of the standard lounge/pop seats and the slipperiness of leather you're going to be sliding round an awful lot when cornering.....

Really? I didn't have this problem when i had my beetle with its leather seats... I think that i should go for the blue checquered interior and then i will just do a research and make the decision.

Are the leather seats you get as an option on the car different to the fabric option? The seat structure itself I mean not the covering ;)
It's a shame fiat don't offer an ivory leather option really - I'd have gone with that one I think, but the tan ones have grown on me quite alot :)

Yes, the leather seats have more supportive boulsters than the lounge/pop seats.

It's less the fact of the leather covering, more she shape of the seats - which lack much support for your legs.

Oh bugger, I've gone and mentioned your legs again....

Thanks for the 500th thanks FloJo :p

The seat structure remains the same... they just remove the fabric and put leather. I'm posting a pic as a sample of an aftermarket leather installation.

Yes but we need some pictures of your legs on the seats (purely for professional reasons, so we can see if you will have enough support, you understand).

Hi everyone,
I am just about to order a 1.3 MJet 500.:)
Concerning the seats and leather options, I like the twinair plus seats more than the checkered ones in the Lounge edition, however the diesel car no more gets this 'sport' version. I just cannot understand why FIAT did this.
To cut a long story short, after thorough search, I tend to conclude that the frau leather seats, are the same shape as the twinair plus ones, but they are full leather. I only wish I could get the twinair plus interior on a diesel 500. I think it looks great. So, Chrisilda, aftermarket leather will not provide the same lateral support as the FIAT leather seats, but as you said not a great choice of colors. Nonetheless, my main concern would be for no damage to interior from the guys fitting the aftermarket leather...

Well i just checked all the colors in flesh today and i decided to stick on fabric. I just placed my order today and i don't think that i will regret it.. having a car with leather seats for 4.5 years was a big trouble for me. Regarding the aftermarket solution it's just a matter of my mood... it's very likely that after 1 or 2 years to go for it..
