My 2016 fiat 500 sport car's engine won't start. I bought the car from a police auction and it didn't have a key. I ordered a BCM and installed it myself, but it had been tampered with before. As you can see in the picture, there is a purple cable that goes into the blue socket. The latch of that cable was broken, but despite that, I managed to fit it. My locksmith came and took out the key and programmed it. After struggling for a long time, he said there was a problem. The radio and engine were not working, but the lights were on. The doors were opening and closing with the remote control. The key was coded. When he looked at it from the computer, he said the telematics module was not visible. He said I did my job and left. I don't know what to do. Please help. Does anyone know what the purple cable attached to the place in the picture means? Could it be due to a loose connection there? when the computer is connected to the car it shows there isnt an entertainment telematic module. Is that effect the car starting? Does it cause any issues not having a flowing power? Does it need to communicate with ECU and body module? Thank you for your help and support

Your American cars are vastly different to the EU cars
But was the bcm brand new and unused

You can not fit a second hand bcu unless you also replace the engine ECU locks and keys from the same vehicle

bcm was brand new from the dealer. I don't know if locksmith pre-coded and then encode it. However, locksmith was told that a new bcm was installed however, locksmith computer kept showing "x" sign by telematic module and he took that as it doesn't communicate or doesn't have entertainment telematic module he believed it was starter, or the engine was stuck. I doubt the engine is stuck, and also doubtful about starter issue because there was a key in the car and tried to start the car and starter was turning but the car wasn't firing up then the alarm started so, I figured since alarm went off the fuel pump wasn't engaging some cars do that the locksmith came said when the alarm goes off then you need to change body module and he said he can't help
