Newbie MES question
I am doing a van build camper conversion and intend to connect a Victron DC to DC charger between the starter battery, and van, lithium leisure battery.

Any advice as to how and what I need to do with MES / proxy alignment to facilitate this without problems would be appreciated.

My intended procedure is of course, disconnect starter battery, connect cable fro Dc to Dc charger to a new mega fuse on the starter battery positive terminal, then reconnect starter battery.

Thanks

As your B2B is not connected to the canbus system, the answer is none. However if your vehicle has a smart alternator then then you should not make the negative connection on the battery side of any shunt.

In my opinion, the description "leisure battery" is all too frequently misused. A leisure battery originally denoted a lead acid battery optimised for deep discharge at relatively low currents, which is the opposite of a starter battery. From that it follows that a lithium battery is not a leisure battery, I try to use the term habitation battery, which describes its function irrespective of the battery chemistry. However I would agree that a well known UK manufacturer of MH electrical systems do incorrectly use the the description "leisure battery". Perhaps this may be due to their roots in manufacturing caravan systems when alternative battery types were not genarally available.
