For winter tyres drop down to 15" rims. Allows for much narrower tyres with higher sidewalls.

Don't, back when I was at college (many years ago) a lad had a 1600E (cortina for those that are too young to remember). He was what you might call gullible in the extreme. We told him that go faster stripes improved wind drag and added 3-8mph to top speed and if he painted his tyres this would do the same and that there was a good reason for white wall tyres. Over the weekend he did both and came to college on monday with orange (matching the colour of his car) side walls and black go fast stripes
, thing is he actually claimed they worked. We then went on to explain about sheep having shorter legs on one side:devil:
