Styling Abarth Badges

You know how to hurt a guy's feelings! :p

I can see the point you are making but I don't feel that additional badges are going to make the vehicle any more of a target for thieves.

I don't know - hence why I asked the question.
There are some scumbags who are so jealous of other people's money that they would 'key' an expensive motor just for the heck.
Smartening your car up would make it more tempting to the likes of these?

No Panda is an expensive car though really. I leave my car all over Wythenshawe for work stuff and have not had a problem so far. A couple of badges which most people won't understand anyway is unlikely to make a difference IMO.

Well you have the immobiliser keys, so a thief would need the keys to drive it away. I don't think many car thieves would be interested in a panda no matter what model it is really. Badges, do not a 'sporty version' make. The 100hp looks quite obviously different from the other models in the range.

I didn't know that.

And why wouldn't car thieves be interested in a panda? - we are interested in them. Some years ago I had quite an old Metro. After I stripped the engine & gearbox I had it running perfectly - so perfectly, some little scroat decided they'd have it - and it was nothing special to look at.

I realised that you didn't know that the 100HP was different, hence my comment...

Given your thoughts on badges, I'm just relieved that I didn't fit the 'Scuderia Ferrari' shields. Now that would have attracted the thieves! :)

Given you need the keys to drive away in it, I guess that would be an issue. It doesn't take much to nick an old metro. So it was just easy to nick rather than anything else. The Panda isn't.

It's a sign that we are having a decent Summer - the sun has faded the Abarth shield, turning the red into a pale orange. So, the badges are not UV stable and best avoided.

I have just fitted a pair of genuine Fiat badges in their place:

More expensive but hopefully, longer-lasting (y)

I've swapped the tailgate badge to an Abarth one, removed the 100HP badge.

May swap the "Blue" bonnet badge to a "Red" one soon.

I will definitely be fitting front and rear badges soon, I hate the blue ones mine has.

So long as people aren't badging a 1.2 as a 3ltr V6 I really don't mind what they do. I did laugh when a mate put a 520d badge on his new M5

Would you not want to fit Abarth badges to both the front and rear?

Nope, as I want my car to be totally unique & enjoy any remarks made at car shows. :D

May go for a "Black" bonnet badge. what size in MM are they..? As the ones on Ebay range from a a diameter of 50mm to 84mm
