General 500c Abarth? Any evidence?

...and a final example of fiat's gearknob butchery:

mmmmm, gorgeous! :D

that's what test drives are for so you can make your own judgement rather than listen to the questionable ramblings of (insert name here) mad motoring journo
How many people bought 500's without a testdrive though, and how many Abarth owners ordered cars before they were released?

A lot of people simply just don't care how cars drive (unless they're REALLY REALLY FRIGGING bad) which is why cars these days are so monumentally dull in terms of handling :(

Give it more power, make the exhaust noisier with the occasional pop from the exhaust and lower it and make it stiff and people will say woooo it's sporty!

guilty as charged :D

Got my monthly copy of Evo through the door today. As people have mentioned the box isn't too great and they mention that the suspension has been tuned for comfort as I predicted. 3 out of 5 stars

so is this just rebranded selespeed then? hmmmm.

i would say it beats having the van inspired dash gearstick, but if it then leaves the dash the same, but with a few buttons tacked over it and an unreliable gearbox, i'm not sure it is.

It's a variation of Fiat's award winning Dualogic box, which although is very clever, does lack a little refinement. If only it were as good as a VW DSG box, then we'd be cooking! Wouldn't say it was unreliable though.

My mum used to have a Dualogic Panda, i found it quite fun, but it was only smooth when you drove it hard, trying to drive slowly, you would get the jerky lurching effect that you've read about. The one in the A500C changes slightly quicker than the duelogic, but evidently it's still got it's flaws. Can't Fiat nick VW's 7 speed DSG found in the Fabia VRS (and others) that would suit it perfect.

That's not at all the problem it has.

Evo says

The change is smooth but slow in Normal mode, while in Sport it becomes jerky if you don't ease your foot off the throttle as it shifts

Fiat has its own DSG coming either this year or next, and should be applied to all Fiats eventually. It looks like the Duaogic is just filling in for the time being, rather like the non-Multiar engine is!
