Technical 4x4 no ABS module in MultiEcuScan

Technical 4x4 no ABS module in MultiEcuScan

Please stop randomly testing everything

It very easy to introduce a fault by saying pulling a fuse out and putting it back in the wrong place, there's some blank places or shorting two pins together with a multimeter

There wasn't a problem here before you did the brakes, there was a 99% chance it was something to do with the work carried out

It's far more likely it's just the software and or interface

Don't forget the elm327 is on the network

MultiECUscan isn't tested on every car, there no mention as far as I can see of the 4x4, or the electronic Locking Differential (ELD)

So

P0571

NFR. Brake node
NCM. Engine management node

Hasn't come back

Drive a few yards above 6 km/h and below 12 km/h, no blower or radio, listen carefully can you here the ABS self test activated, has the code come back

It turns out the problem was too high latency of the serial port, I was finally able to access the ABS unit and clear the faults. My guess is that the rotor sucked the air bubble as the ABS bleeding procedure was not done. The problem I have now is that the ABS bleeding procedure "failed to execute" in MultiEcuScan.

Good we are moving forwards

The ABS, body computer, airbag aren't all dead, which was very unlikely, and it was the diagnostic tool

There's no way it can run

C1110 is an open or short to the recirculation motor

No recirculation pump, no bleed

This code is present, so can't be cleared

C1121 also puts the light on are they connected

Unfortunately we have already removed the fuses, we now don't know if this is the original fault or one that's now been introduced

Is this the layout of the fuse box in the engine bay

Hello, yes, thats exactly the layout. The ECU shows no faults after the deletion. I also recall the freeze frame showing the pump fault at 48km/h (that corresponds to reality)

That's strange, normally they don't clear if present,
I might have misunderstood, and the freeze frame is from to original fault

The motor must have fire up and passed the self test before that speed

Does the motor buzz and pass the actuator test in MultiECUscan

With C1121 being intermittent suggests it's not the common water entering the ABS unit, which is good

With them both pointing towards a wiring fault

Disconnect the battery, and carefully remove the ABS plug and visably inspect the pins on both Half's for corrosion, post a closeup photo if you can, don't touch anything else, being intermittent, if it suddenly fixes itself you need to know the last thing you touched

Looks fine to me, no obvious corrosion.

Yes they look fine to me also

How's the otherside

Not being gold plated does means they are susceptable to oxidation, lets see if reseating the cable has an effect

Plug is back in on clear and read the codes codes again

Have you got a multimeter or test light

The large contact are the power and grounds, I can look up what to check if you have a meter,

Here you go, as a last resort

You will have to be very careful

Only touch the top of the pins on the connector, jamming in the probes will spread the contact

Ignition will have to be on

Hello, I've also noticed low voltage on the powersteering ecu, (11.2v reported by multiecuscan) resulting spuriously in steeing wheel failures, so I cleaned the main earth strap poles and battery terminals, the voltage went up to 12.2V and the faults are not appearing now. I'm going for some test rides today. Still not able to run the ABS bleed though (maybe an MES issue?)

You done a good job of cleaning the connectors, that will help alot

Have you managed to clear the ABS code yet

You not the only person who's had problems getting the bleed function in MultiECUscan
