Please help - I am not a technical person but desperate for help. I have a Fiat Panda Active eco 1108cc bought new April 2010. Everything has been great until recently when the car has a intermittent cut out as you drive and the engine management light comes up. My garage has been great and really tried to fix it the code of P0352 comes up being no 2 coil. Both coils have been replaced that worked for a small time then fault cam back again. They tried swapping over coils no difference. Changed all plugs worked fine for short time then P0352 again. Clean air breather area again fine for a week now fault back.
Having read a similar thread on the forum from a couple of years ago I am desperate to solve. I have spoken to two fiat garages they say that they haven't heard of this as a fault ( don't know if I totally believe that ). They say that they will happily check it all out but already having spent good money I feel that this will be another big pay out for nothing.
I hope someone out there knows.

Hi David, Dave here.

What I'm about to suggest does NOT come from a wealth of Fiat experience but I have been working on cars for many years, so here's my suggestion:

As the fault implies an ignition fault - There will be cables going from the coils to other components; check that these cables are:

a. well installed &

b. their contact points are clean.

c. if in any doubt replace these cables.

Cheers and good luck

Dave

Does this cutting out happen at totally random times or is it something that occurs when going over a bump for example?

Hi,
we've had 9 years and 70K out of our 1.1, (y)
only minor niggles in general.. can't see why they did the air-cleaner..,
where are you based ?,

Thanks tigertone 2000 not associated with bumps quite random. Could go a whole day without not on cornering, any particular gear or driving condition. Thanks for reply

Thanks varesecrazy I have had nothing but wonderful carefree 57,000 miles in 3.5 years from new from this great liitle car. The mechanic cleaned some part of air intake (or something like that) as it was a bit dirty just in case so I mentioned it.

For the cost of a can of electrical contact cleaner (the proper stuff, not WD40!)and 5 minutes of your time, it's got to be worth disconnecting the 2 ECU connectors, spraying sparingly then reconnecting. Better still, disconnect and reconnect 2 or 3 times as that'll help clean the contacts thoroughly - this worked for me when I had a similiar problem ('though mine seemed to be linked to going over bumps hence my earlier question) and it's been absolutely fine ever since doing this over a year ago. I think there's at least one other thread on here where a similiar issue was cured in the same way......

Hi tigertone2000 thank you for taking the time. I invested in the can of the best electrical contact spray and spayed every contact. For two weeks no problem though only doing short local journeys then did a 200 mile round trp and the jumping is back and has put same code out - coil no 2. ANY IDEAS ANYONE??????
David

Take it to a fiat dealer and have a proper diagnosis done, it doesnt sound like the 'garage' you are using has the gear to do a decent job.

If it is a fiat dealer, then run to another one !!!.. :D

Almost ALL non main dealers do not have the equipment or the knowledge to diagnose faults on heavily computerised vehicles.

There are some posts regarding this code and an engine ECU problem floating around the 'net.

I'm not sure how acute they are, but it's possible the coil circuit failure could be within the ECU and not necessarily the coil or wiring to it, hence the coil replacement not sorting the problem.

There are a few companies that can test a ECU for you for a small charge.

apparently, the connection to the ECU from /to the coil packs is a bit "lightweight" and can mess-up and cause such faults,

a few pics floating around in the VERY similar Punto 2 section,
