true lol just running out of options. my car still shakes even doh i got the spigots and wobbly bolts, also I got 3 of the wheels rebalanced i havnt had the other back 1 done yet because i cant see how the 1 wheel will make as much shake as when the other 3 where out of balance? I do want the wheels but just cant figure out why since ive put them on its causing the car 2 shake. im fighting the steering wheel at 55-60mph?
Im just thinking it maybe because i went from 13" to 15" ? or could it be because my back suspention is down had reduced damping effect, but then again my car was fine on the 13" steels?
Ive just slowly ran out of money and the problem is still there?
any suggestions (nice car btw)
Hi missey,
Sorry for the mix up in posts, I don't want to get rid of the tbh I like how they look on the car. When I had the steels on I had no problems. The shaking is when I reach around 55-60mph the steering wheel is shaking left to right fast in a 1 inch area side to side. like a jack hammer lol I did'nt get the last back left wheel rebalanced because of money and cud'nt really understand why the 1 back wheel would still cause it through the steering wheel. I did have all the wheels off a few days ago to paint the brake drums/calipers but never noticed any play when I put them back on. One thing I did notice at the rear is a clunking noise when It was being lowered back off the jack. also my rear shockers are down has having a reduced damping effect on the mot slip? would that be contributing to it? the the extra weight of the wheels exaggerating it.
btw it does'nt have powersteering
no worries about the posts![]()
tbh it could be a few things,
Firstly, you will feel more through the steering wheel without power steering, but NOT that much.
As sdb-punto has already said you need to get those wheels back to the shop. I'm kinda concerned about what sort of place you have been dealing with.
Normally, well whenever I have gone for balancing, the place I use would not dream of only sorting 3 wheels....If I go there for wheel balancing, they do all 4 without me asking...when done, I say, 'how much do I owe ya', they say, 'nah your alright love'It's not an expensive job...(esp when you are a girl
)
How much have they been charging you per wheel?...even that sounds odd paying per wheel
As for the clunking when lowering off jack..they do tend to creak and moan a bit, but as long as its not too disgusting I wouldn't be overly concerned, esp if your shocks are on their way out.
Thing is, it could be a few different things. But I would start with the wheels and getting them sorted properly.
Cos it could be that another problem that wasn't that obvious with the 13's on is now being highlighted. But my money would be going on getting those wheels balanced properly and seeing where that takes you.
Even if you took it to a national place and asked for a free check/quote to see what you are looking at![]()
Your thinking of the two locator pins that are used to hold the wheels on while you get the bolts in. In or out these won't make a difference.different part to what i was thinking. thought you was talking about the two spike things.
I still have those on my wheels.
btw am liking the diagrams hehe
