Technical 12v not available while running...

We've had this 2000 motorhome for a while now, and it has always been this way and I just dealt with it. The 12v system...the water pump, light, fridge...will only work if the camper is not running. It is a McLouis motorhome if that helps. It's not really a problem, but I would like to be able to run the fridge while we drive and save the gas for while we are parked. Are these wired this way, it is easy to change over? I believe all the wiring is original, nothing has been updated or changed with the exception of the charging relay I had to replace.

BRitsh coverted vans have the habitation electrics wired this way with hab electrics issolated when running ( daft i know, europen vans dont work this way) but the fridge should be running on 12v with engine running. Mc Loius is not british converted italian? confussed? So if the hab is issolated you have an issue with the fridge, posibly the D+ signal.

Thanks for the reply...I guess I am going to have to start tracing, probing and mapping electrics...my absolute least favorite thing to vehicles. Thought maybe it was just a relay somewhere I could rewire.
