Having bought my 1.2 pop when it was 10months old from new, it was given a service from the Fiat dealer with a milage of 2750.

Now 12months later milage 5500 I have been informed its due for another service, not because of milage but age (2yrs). The dealer informs me it will cost £150 inc, and was just wondering if this price was about adverage for a Fiat dealership. Will of course have it done because of the warranty. Comments please on price.
It has been faultless over the last 12months and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Please do a search for servicing, it would take me ages to type out my response but it's there for you in seconds if you search :)

Seems very reasonable to me.

I would imagine that the first service was a "low mileage" one which means that this one will be a full service (on paper) and at two years should include; oil, oil filter, air filter, pollen filter and brake fluid. They obviously are on the ball and realised that you wouldn't need spark plugs as these are changed on mileage and not time basis.

If it includes a brake fluid change that would be a good price given that was missed on my last car at the 2 year service and I was still charged 2 hours labour despite changing the spark plugs myself.:)

If you did a search you'd actually find that it's not actually that great value but whatever......

I know what Maxi is saying about buying everything yourself and then getting the dealer just to charge for labour. However, in my opinion and based on your original question above, I am confident that you have been quoted a fair price and it is well below what some other people have been quoted for the same service.

Don't forget, at under two years old you are still covered by the manufacturers warranty so if you think that there might be an issue with anything in the future now would be the time to mention it; e.g. Breather hose.

It's an OK price IF they are changing the fluid and if I'm honest I doubt they are. Most dealerships seem to offer it as an extra. IMHO it's a bad price if for instance they're not changing the plugs.

Yeah, my pop was serviced at 1 year and cost about £150 once VAT was added, it had done about 5500 miles and so it was classed as a low mileage service. I bought the car from new and I took it to be serviced at the same garage where I purchased it.

I'm not sure if the initial service you had would make any difference, so that price is probably right, I'd say.

That is far too much to pay for a low mileage service. i repeat, far too much to pay for a low mileage service.

The 2 hour service that I was stung for resulted in a new set of rear shocks (car was in the dealer part of the warranty) so in retrospect I got good value for money.

but you would have got them for free regardless of the service....

I will repeat yet again, do a search and you'll find a couple of really big threads on this which will enable you to save a bit of money :)

I have had no success in getting the rear shocks replaced on the '09 but I 'haven't been beating on the door'. I'm going to wait until the next service that's due in November before raising it again. My experience is that if you cry wolf once too often you tend to get 'ignored' when there is an actual real problem. Anyway if I end up keeping the funk white I'd want a proper set of shocks. From the little look that I did again  last night I reckon that AVO setup is the best for what I'm looking for which includes the springs with the Koni FSD option a very close second.
