See now, every year we take a FIAT somewhere odd.... Panda to the Sahara, 500 to San Francisco and now I'm thinking well next year it will be 10 years since the Multipla was on display at MOMA in New York so why not have a centenary trip back with one?

Thoughts?

E505JPY has gone as I don't own that wee panda anymore so I'll be me now hehe

Diesel? Mmmm, you can buy it in the states and the 50 mpg might be good with the distance we have to cover ;)

Multipla To MARS!

We're moving along rightly with this and the little gray cells are working over load thinking of ways to make this as memorable as the other FIAT trips like the 500 Challenge or the Panda Vs Orient Express.

Well, as the Multipla has had the comment 'it looks like it came from outer space' said about it many time in the motoring press I think the least we can do it put the first Multipla on Mars!

To boldly go where no Multipla has gone before!!!

Yup, there's a town in Pennsylvania called Mars and slap bang in the middle of the town square is a huge metal flying saucer that weighs over a ton! I'm going to get in contact with the town and see if they'd be interested in making a bit of an event of the car arriving. You never know, they might be as mad as we are!

Anyway, more info on 'Multipla to Mars' soon, lol;)

Yeah... Looks like LL her I come

Poor Multipla owners... No time to enjoy their cars :(

I'll be back in here in the new year looking some buying advice on them and about any hints and tips about them as I really don't know that much about anything over 1.2 on FIAT's (except the Barchetta but it's only titchy at heart too)

Big FIATs are a mystery to me and I've never had a Diesel before

Anyway, I'm going to email the Mayor of Mars and tell him I'm coming (and I'm not looking soil samples unlike NASA)

Hope the pic of the Martian space ship stays up this time...

You just don't get diesel in the states unless your called 'rubber duck' or something.... But the American Fiat lot are really inventive so I'm sure they'll think of something if it all goes horribly wrong;)

BTW, Got my first email from a Martian!!!! :D

Hi Jim,

Well, first take a look at www.purvisbros.com/mars/marstop.htm if you have not already.

The town is still a town but is slowly being surrounded by suburban sprawl from Pittsburgh. It is easily accessed from Interstate 79 or the Pennsylvania Turnpike - their junction is about 5 miles from town.

We are friendly, no one has bitten any visitors for quite some time, and no other town has a cooler name. Let me know any specifics you might be looking for.

You may also get help planning a group visit from the local tourist promotion folks at
