Styling Alternative to LED sidelights

I like the look of LED sidelights and have tried putting them in my GPS but got the bulb out warning light. I went down the option of resistors but never got round to fitting them. I therefore settled for Philips Blue Vision bulbs. I then came across MTEC sidelight bulbs which are really impressive. I got them from HIDs Direct

The pictures are below:

I have also put LED bulbs in the numberplate lights, but this required a resistor putting in. I've added a photo of that below as well.

I was just thinking today that i havent seen any posts from you for a while after having a look at a old thread on your car, nice touch tho mate and from the looks of the website they look a good price and all.

Wow, they are bluer and brighter than my Phillips Blue Vision sidelight bulbs.

The before pictures are the Philips blue vision bulbs. The after are the MTECH. Much prefer the MTEC look.

Bought my HID's off hiddirect last week, lol, could have got my MTEC bulbs at the same time. How comes you didn't use the MTEC's for your numberplate light?

Because I was also to late!! I'd done the numberplate before finding the MTECH. I thought I'd order the MTECH's and try them. I'm tempted to change my number plate ones to MTECH so that I can take the resistor out, safer that way!!!

Yeh, that was the reason I never used resistors in my numberplate lights. Was worried how hot they got inside the bumper.

Also, I find LED's too directional. Bulbs tend to spread light better.

There are a few MTEC sidelights on that link, which exact ones did you get??

(There's a good few on there but i don't know which ones will be blue like yours) they look class, nice and blue, will match my 10,000k HID's

They are the top ones. MTECH sidelight bulbs. £4.99 a pair.

These ones are the exact same as the ones on that site and a bit cheaper!

I bought 2 sets and replaced my sidelights and the numberplate lights, gives the rear number plate recess a nice white glow as opposed to the original yellow

i ordered some alsoa s im fed up witha yellow tint when my HIDS r on. lets ee how good they are. ordered them this morning and jsut had e-mail to confirm dispatchment.

Just a hint. Never buy from the Hid's Direct website. Always phone them up. The MTEC bulbs are £2.99 over the phone, and if you ask for free delivery, you get!!

Do you need the resistor for the sidelight?

No they just plug straight in, because they are just a standard 501. its only certain LED ones you will need the resistor.
