That is my exact same opinion
@StevenRB45 - the fuelling will be off and its probably pulling timing as well. It makes sense to me now I read the manual and thought about how its all working. It doesn't have a bypass valve or anything so all the air is going through the charger whether its on or not, driving it without it on is also going to be like pulling through a huge restriction. But also means it is genuinely really important the clutch lets go at idle and on decel and that its not designed to be off. But I'm not worried, its working properly now its on all the time, and I don't see how not having it on would damage the charger.
I've just taken it to fill up petrol, first proper drive and I need to tighten the belt a smidge. It squeaks on start-up and every so slightly under load I can hear it slipping. I expected this mind, I didn't want to overtighten it.
With regard to the on/off switch, its saying its there for install and testing. Seems many don't have the switch even. I am very glad I read this and tested it though, drives so much better now that it ever has, on or off - and as previously said, pretty sure it would damage the charger with the clutch engaged all the time.
I blocked MCM on YT years ago so not seen any of their videos on it. I was being dramatic in that update post, its not all that bad at all. The charger kit is certainly well thought out if you ignore the belt not coming out issue - but it is the exact same kit for like 5 different cars (both engines fitted to a cube have the exact same kit, and the note and pulsar and something else). Once I had that bit of bracket off I can see that idler on it will actually move about 10mm forward and back so it might actually be possible to get the belt out and thats why its like that.... I'll try next time. In any case this supercharger kit could be installed but someone with basic tool and very little knowledge and this google translated manual and have it running same day. But we'll see if I can get the coils and plugs out without taking the top pipe off before I decide or not whether its totally stupid though - cause I cannot find gaskets for that as of yet and I'd like new ones if I take it off!!
