2003 Punto 1.3 diesel Multijet. 90,000 miles on clock. Starts first time, every time with no effort, idles, runs perfect. Changed oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter. Vehicle has not been run much though but when I start it up there is white smoke from exhaust, bit like a BBQ and smells similar. As the engine warms up the white smoke reduces a lot but is still there. I have no idea why this is happening, the car runs perfectly. Vehicle does not burn oil or lose any water either. The reservoir is also nice and clear filled to the top with red antifreeze. I have a VW Passat 1.9 tdi with double this mileage and that shows no smoke of any colour and serviced the same. Could it be the fuel ? Would putting in a bottle of one of those REDEX type diesel fuel treatments help or a tank of the higher quality diesels from the forecourt pumps ? Or is this normal ? Any advice would be appreciated.
