The trick thats worst is being paid just over the 40% tax threshold. That is really hopeless. Either £1 below ideally or £10K over if the gods are by your side. I heard the other day train drivers get c £70K. When I left the waste industry truck drivers in London were earningnearly £50k. When you see the job though is not much fun and very very difficult.
I saw that a while ago about train drivers getting that amount of pay & yet they were still striking over it 😲

I decided to do something productive today as the water leak in the Seicento has now definitely gone, I'd already seam sealed the area after cleaning it all up a few months ago but didn't want to paint the area until the leak had been sorted, so today I have given the affected areas 2 coats of Isopon zinc primer which I'm going to leave to dry overnight before doing 2 top coats tomorrow, as you'll see from the pics the boot floor/arch area is all really solid it was just the small areas caused by the water leakage, considering access isn't the greatest 😂 & I'm not a professional so far it doesn't look too bad.

Are you sure it's not just your wallet that is getting lighter?;)
I was once 17st 12, now 16.0. If I can keep loosing I might just get back under 14 which is where I should be. Off to Doc again today as I need to make an appointment as my MRI has come back abnormal whatever that means. It was supposed to be spine and its pretty clear that is far from right. The rate of loss is alarming me though as Im loosing maybe half a pound every 3 days. Its probably building works keeping me away from the snacks and the extra physical effort. They say loosing weight will make you feel better. I can say now it doesnt! (Lol??)

Impromptu computer upgrade.

Motherboard died on my PC a few days before I had an important deadline to meet, I had the choice of paying £300 for a new motherboard (which is what died) for the same motherboard that I already had and replacing it like for like, but would have to wait probably weeks for it to come from China,

Or just buy a new motherboard and processor for £260 with a processor that is a couple of generations newer.

Not a hard choice to make, but bloody frustrating it happened when it did.

Thankfully I didn’t loose any important data which is what has made me happy.

Also found an old hard drive which not only had some pictures of my old Range Rover but also had pictures I took at the British touring car in 2002, including this shot of the only TVR speed 12

Hopefully just the stress from trying to get all the building work finished and now nearing completion will return to normal.:)
I once lost a stone in one month when first wife's solicitor informed me she wanted a divorce, admitted adultery and wanted half of all I owned as well as the Alfa Romeo 1750 GTV and the Fiat 500, 18 months after getting married! That was after thinking that knowing her for 7 years was long enough to trust her.:(

I remember when I first started my previous job just over 3 years ago as a delivery driver, when I started I was 17 & a half stone, within the first 4 months my weight plummeted down to 10 & a half stone & went from a 38 inch waist down to 30 inch, I'd never spent so much on clothes 😂, I've put on a little bit now though over the last 6 months & also as I've been out of work for the last 3 months living on my savings & there's been a few pies, cakes & sweets along the way 🤣 when I start my new job next week though it'll start coming back off, that's why i go for really physical jobs that keeps you constantly moving as the shifts tend to go a lot quicker & the weight comes off me virtually straight away & stays off.

Wish I knew enough about computers to even understand what you're talking about

What a strange choice of colour for the TVR. I have to admit to a liking for the older ones, like the Grantura and the early V8 engined cars. The later ones got too "fleshy" and lost their "purity" I think.

Just look at those tyres - must have been like riding on solid wheels.

Good luck with the new job. I'm a great believer in using the body. I'm not a gym type person but I do walk a lot. Most days for about an hour, sometimes more. My recent hip operation has curtailed this somewhat but I'm now almost back to normal and I've put on a wee bit of flab around my waist and about half a stone (so I'm just over 12 stone now - whereas I like to be around 11.5. This should now slowly disappear as I get back into my walking regime. I was down at the harbour yesterday where the wonderful Mason's bakery is. I was sorely tempted to partake of one of their legendary mince pies (Scottish meat pie) but, at the last moment, managed to work up enough resolve to walk on past their door

Thanks 👍, I've never stepped foot into a gym in my life 😂 but i do cycle quite a bit & if a jobs near enough to home I cycle, the new job is only 4 miles away so I'll start cycling to it, when I was around 15-16 years old I used to cycle everywhere as Surrey public transport was always quiet dear & I could never really afford it😂 so I found an old bike that had been abandoned for a few years outside a pub about 100 yards from my grandad's house so I took it, fixed it up with whatever I had laying around & that was my mode of transport until i passed my test, I went everywhere on that old bike but in the end it fell apart as it was quite rusty, from my mum's to my mates house was about 18 miles each way & each way used to take me around an hour, I'm a little slower now though but can still do some distance 😂

Computers are much like everything it’s just bits bolted together.

The TVR Is interesting all round, I have tried to do a little research on it as there were only a very small number of cars built maybe only 3, one was a road car and the others race cars, apparently the race cars were broken to keep the road car going, though I think there are now maybe 2x cars in total left.

The one in the picture had a very distinct red leather interior and notably it had 5 wheel bolts when the cars in every picture I have found have a single bolt in the centre like a race car.

Makes me wonder if this car exists anymore? Or was it just a Cerbera in speed 12 body panels ? Would be interesting to find out what happened to it.

Reminds me of someone with the same attitude, but he suddenly started going to the gym…next thing you know, his missus found out he was having an affair and the gym was his excuse

B french wondows are now up and running. I'd had enough yesterday when they wouldn't close, let alone lock, after I fitted the remaining glass beading. I called the locksmith. They are fantastic and the charge to adjust for locking was minimal. Ive spent all day and managed after a huge struggle to get an extra fixing up above the centre point as instructed. Had to drill through the steel lintel. I have some super drills from the TV ads. To say they are rubbish is not condemnation enough. The ads are clearly fixed. 3 drills twisted and snapped drilling my cast iron stove. Today they failed to drill 3/16 steel. Don't buy stuff off TV ads!. The remaining ones went in the recycling pot. A B expensive drill case!!. I fortunately had a hard diamond tipped drill bit bought 25 years ago that eventally got me sorted. Then the masonry self tappers wouldn't go in
Theyre OK in mortar, no good in brick. Two big rawl plugs and a galanized screw sorted it. An hours muckiing about after and they now work as expected, so tomorrow I can point it and seal and we are secure. The security plank that kept the door closed will do for the wood burner. So now the place is secure, dry and warm. Next job rewire lights and then restore power to the main socket ring main. PROGRESS! All this on 3 slices of toast, so Im looking forwards to dinner.

Great news today regarding the hip. You'll remember 10 days ago the physio told me he was 100% happy with my progress and he signed me off with the caveat that I keep up with the exercises - which I'm doing enthusiastically. Today started off rather poorly because Mrs J has had spectacular diarrhoea and sickness through the night. I suspect it's a bug as she was out a lot yesterday Christmas shopping. By this morning she was stable and by lunchtime was picking up. Much better this evening. The problem this caused though was that I couldn't attend my final consultation - scheduled for 14.00 hrs - with the consultant who did the operation. I rang the hospital and they agreed I shouldn't attend but they set up a telephone appointment instead. Lots of questions answered and he's very happy to sign me off. So I'm back to all my normal activities - went for a 2 hour walk yesterday.

Even better is that the sale of my brother's cottage went "live" yesterday and the selling agent rang me this morning to say they've already had 11 inquiries and two viewings arranged for early next week. I've been paying the costs - council tax and other upkeep - for a year now and the council tax has been double for the last two months as the property is vacant, which is quite a drain on my resources, so I'll be glad to see it sold. With a bit of luck there may be more than one party interested in bidding?

It was Carismas Cerbera, nothing to do a speed 12.

It did exist at least up until recently seem to remember Tavarish did a car trek in it.

It was exactly as bad as you'd expect for 00s show car. I.e. everything you couldn't see was done with sticky tape and it barely ran.
