Walked past a Lotus today on my lunch break..
Not only was it intensely ugly, I contemplated that the years I have been alive are likely roughly equal to the number of years I have left if not slightly less.

Yup, I remember ration cards - born 1946 - and going to the shops with my mum and other siblings to buy quite small amounts of stuff like butter when your card would then be stamped.

They heard I was arriving on scene and got rid of them but I saw them when growing up as you had I believe to keep them for a few years. Yes and with less Civil Servants than today, but maybe they worked from the office and not from home!
