General Weight distribution and towing

Best practical demo and explanation of that phenomenon that I've seen - good find!

Having had to tow my old mans dead Defender 110 having reversed it onto the trailer (it was stuck in reverse), I know just how uncomfortable it is to have so much weight at the wrong end of a trailer setup.... Nearly ended badly.

What were you using to tow it?

All interesting stuff! Of course, as proportions of vehicle mass and relative towball load, our cars are only really capable of towing relatively stable combinations, but the distribution of that weight is still important. Certainly the little, but sturdily-built, 400kg utility trailer that we tow behind our Panda, tows like a dream, so long as I keep a reasonable forward bias. Helps that the length of the trailer is so short, so weight never strays too far from the axle to increase inertia.
All that said, I did have one occasion that sounds akin to that experienced by R1nga....see the image below! XD
