If you are doing it yourself, I would start engine with auxillary belt off to check that it is the source of noise.Thanks.
No it doesn't have start stop. It's basically just a high pitch noise when accelerating and just before changing gear. It's also very noticeable when idle from a while.
Maybe just get the new aux belt anyway and see if that fixes anything?
Any specific brand to get, am looking at Gates and Dayco, is it 4 ribbed?
Personally I would be unhappy if noise after having cambelt job done and would need to be satisfied it is only a noisy design of belt or not.
Having fitted many belts over the years I would use a tool to hear where the noise is coming from and correct it.
It may well be as other have found, to be just a belt design, but if not, it can be an over tight belt which can destroy bearings, water pump or what other guides are related or worse.
I would never send a customers car out with strange noises and if it was belt design I would use a different make.
After all the car didn't leave the factory making that noise!
