A lot of 500 owners do not even recognise one of these carbs when fitted but the 30DIC carb was one of the first to be used for tuning. Quite rare now as they were only ever fitted to the 850 Sport Coupe and Spider. The 30DGF carbs were fitted to the 126 Bis models with small Venturi sizes and larger sizes fitted to the Panda 30 models which never made it to the UK. Both types are fitted with progressive choke set ups which suit driving modes in that with a light throttle touch you can drive on one choke like a single carb. The Panda 30 DGF is quite well known for tuning and I thought the more restricted Bis carb might suit smaller capacity tuned engines so I tried one on a 540cc engine with some success. I also ran the 30DIC on larger engines very successfully but the secret is to get the jetting right for the particular engine.

And the strange this is that although the 'DGF' carb sits at an angle when fitted to the 500/126, it doesn't seem to affect the running---very strange Alice.

That is true but only if you use the original Panda 30 inlet manifold. The purpose made manifolds keep the carb level.
