General Wave

Pot, kettle, right?

Why would you wave at someone? Answer: Because you feel there's some connection.

I was trying to make a point about invalid assumptions and judgments about what drives other people's behaviour. But maybe I missed the target. I'm sure you're right....

But at the very least people owning 500's who wave at other 500's do it because they feel there is some connection. The problem that some people encounter is that this feeling isn't bi-directional.

Some people bought the 500 because it's cute
Some people bought it because it's retro
Some people bought it because they pine for an original 500
Some people like myself bought it because it was one of the best buys on scrappage, was based on a proven car and was a low risk purchase as it is likely to hold its value well and never be into negative equity.

Millions of years ago I used to drive a Renault 4, a student at the time and it was known as the "Art Car", a nervous little filly - but I loved her never the less. She passed away at a set of traffic lights in the middle of Hull - an ignominious end..... bless her.

Renault 4's ROCK!!!!

The wifes Renno 4's. Strange woman likes 2cv's as well......

We used to build multi -coloured 2CVs at Dover Docks when I worked for the Citroen importers back in the day! All you need is a good supply of different coloured cars and swap the door panels, bonnet and boot lid......... takes some sorting out once the cars get to the storage compound!!!!!

When I first got my 500 I was often waved at. But six months on Im starting to believe we have a Car Hire company in Bournemouth using 500's All of whom are far from happy driving the little car, miserable buggers!

I wave at all the passing 500's, the bf thinks I am nuts, no one has ever waved back, maybe I am doing it wrong, is there a special wave?

Maxi has a "special wave" for anyone who waves at him from a 500 - it's an economical one too as it only involves using two of his fingers...

:ROFLMAO: it's nice to see people are still in the business of making premature judgements :D

You undersell my ability to be horrible and grumpy. Usually I will chase down said offender, pull them out of their car and take a dump on their head, the v's are only for first time offenders

When I first got my 500 about 18 months ago i used to wave all the as not many folk had 500's, now I would be waving my wing like I was a Turkey about to be slaughtered!

There are lots of 500's about, even BSM !

I was driving around Bristol the other day and I saw another Fiat 500 driver we looked at eachother for ages. I thought should I wave ? didnt. May be I thought she'd not wave back and Id look a ass. Shame wish I had :( Have decided though, to wave any way from now on (y)

Got my first wave today, on only the second day of ownership! I'm glad I saw this thread beforehand or I'd wonder what was going on.
